Well I finally finished my trash to treasure message/chalk board that I bought at Home Goods...
It was originally a mirror that I planned on repairing and putting by the door of my Seaside Shack... But the mirror broke and all the pieces fell off of it and when I was trying to remove the old glue I dropped the pelican and broke his head off. So I had to rethink the whole thing and I think it turned out pretty good, seeing that I only payed $7.99 for it.

Me & Mike went out today and I found a few more trash to treasure finds that I can't wait to get started on.. don't take much to make me happy !!! Mike even gave me a little spot in his building for me to work on my little projects.

I finished the day off watching the butterflies gathering around the butterfly bush in the backyard after a little late afternoon shower.

The rain cooled everything off and it was very nice sitting there listening to the rain.. so I will leave you with a picture of my view from the back porch..

Well I had all intentions of getting my camera out and going to the "Old Soldiers Reunion" today and taking some really great pictures.... but after lugging my camera bag around for what seemed an eternity ( in reality it was only thirty minutes ) I decided it was too freaking hot, so I came back home to that wonderful invention called Air Condition !!! and took a little nap....

But I did start the morning out with a few pictures.. first this morning when I got up I had a little visitor hanging out on my kitchen window..... It was kinda nice to have something looking in and praying over me while I had my morning coffee. Then I went outside with my trusty sidekick Minnie and did a little bird watching.
Now my bird feeders have not been very popular.. my goofy next door neighbor has birds all over hers and I usually see them flying from my backyard to hers..just leaving all that birdseed I put out to rot in the feeders, which kinda pisses me off. So my friend Melinda suggested that I get sunflower seeds, and I finally listened to her and got a bag this week, and let me tell you they LOVE it !!! I have had birds of all kinds every morning. I even had a little humming bird to visit too. Now I know that this might all sound a little boring to most but like I said in my post yesterday this is my blog and I will write about what I want to. Life is good and I am so thankful for every day I have to watch birds...and take a nap in the nice cold AC..

Okay, I got used to blogging while we were on vacation and I kinda miss it...so I am going to try and keep it up, maybe not every day because I just don't have that much happening in my life that is worth writing about. ha..ha..ha.. But I am getting older and it may be a good way to help me remember things....MAYBE !! I created a twitter account while I was on Tybee Island just so I could find Miley Cyrus, but I really don't have anything to tweet about either. Let's face it I am kind of boring! So I will just blog about Penny and what she is doing or thinking that day. I might post a few pictures or talk about ....anything I want to cause it's my BLOG!!!

I did find out yesterday ( from my twitter account) that Bon Jovi is releasing a new CD and going to go on tour again..( that's right I said Twitter...I follow Bon Jovi too !!) so I am excited about that. I just hope he comes closer than Greensboro this time. And I was really happy to see Chyma get the boot on Big Brother last night , and I went to the salvation army this week and found some really good trash to treasure finds for the Little Seaside Shack...

I would like to take off and go to my Seaside Shack but waiting to see what the hurricane has in store for NC coast, cause I don't want to be there when or if it hits !!!

Well it's time to take Minnie for a walk, I still walk her instead of just letting her out on her own.Two reasons one.. I am paranoid and two.. she doesn't listen to me like she does Mike and I am afraid she will hurt herself when she comes barreling up the steps. She has been limping the last couple of days and it has me a little concerned . I can't decide if it is her surgical leg or if her nails were clipped a little too close.

I forgot about these cute planters that we saw for sale at "The Crabshack"....well me & Melinda thought they were cute Mike didn't think so. they were a little pricey so Mike & Jerry assured us that they could make one for us and we could paint it....we will have to wait and see...

Last Day :( Tybee Island...

We finally had sunshine today and all got a little burnt except for Wesley who has been sick with a stomach virus for two days..

We went to Uncle Bubbas for supper and it was delicious, Then we headed down to the beach for a Tybee Island group picture. Wesley was feeling good enough to get in the picture.

We are all sad to be going home tomorrow bright and early. Even with all the rain & storms we got this week we still had a great trip, and we have already started planning our trip for next year.

Day 5 Tybee Island.....


Well it rained again today.... we didn't get to go to the beach again, so we decided to head to Savannah and eat lunch and walk around. Wouldn't you know it that when we got to Savannah the sun came out and it got hot..hot... After a good lunch at Huey's ( Tyler & Brittney met us and we got to visit with them for a little while) and cupcakes & chocolate we waited in the heat for the bus to take us back to our car. The rain & storms have put a damper on our long awaited vacation.. Maybe tomorrow we will get some SUNSHINE and some time on the beach..

Day 4 Tybee Island ......

Storms...rain...& more storms..... Me Mike Wesley & Emily spent the day in Savannah. We ate Lunch on River Street & drove through the crazy traffic of downtown Savannah.... not fun, you really need to stay in Savannah to enjoy it maybe we can come back when it is cooler. Got back to " Under the tybee sun" fixed spaghetti & shrimp for supper, and watched "big brother" and more storms !!!!! hope we get a little sunshine tomorrow......

Tybee Island Day 3.......

Spent the day at the pool and me & Emily went to the beach for a little while...
Storms rolled in and we were cooped up in the house for most of the evening...
Had a delicious home cooked meal prepared by Maranda, and spent the rest of the evening watching TV and surfing the Internet...

Day 2 at Tybee Island.....

We started the day off with a morning walk up the beach, then we stumbled upon the movie set ...but I stumbled first and fell down on the side of the road and twisted my ankle. Spent the rest of the day at the beach where it felt like it was over 100 degrees !!! Me Melinda & Maranda drove back to the movie set to see if we could spot anyone famous.... we thought we saw Miley Cyrus's stunt double but now we think it might have been her. We finished the day with supper at the world famous Crab Shack.... food is okay but the heat and the mosquitoes were not !!!! We are going to try and look for movie stars again tomorrow...

we made it to Tybee Island safe & sound.... after grocery shopping we enjoyed some take out pizza & wings and then went for a walk on the beach..

Our plans for tomorrow are to just take it easy and spend the day on the beach or at the pool & then maybe supper at the Crab Shack or Uncle Bubbas'..

No spotting of Miley Cyrus yet but the pizza delivery woman gave us a heads up to where she is staying...

here we go on our way to tybee island & the first family vacation we have taken all of us together in a very long time...

Okay this is just a test to see if my mobile blogger is working.... this is an old picture from holden beach. hopefully i will be posting pictures from tybee island tomorrow. my intent is to try and blog every day of our trip and to keep a diary of everything we do & see... and who knows we might get lucky and see "Hannah Montana" Well i am going to bed have to take minnie to the kennel early in the morning , she is going on vacation too !! so i will post again tomorrow from tybee island... good night.
